The opening ceremony of the 56th Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU) sports meeting was held at the university’s Shengle campus on June 13.

A total of 875 IMNU students will take part in 12 sports and 36 track-and-field events in the sports meeting, showcasing their vigor and confidence.

Yun Guohong, IMNU president, Zhang Haifeng, IMNU vice-president and Wang Laixi, a member of IMNU party committee, attended the ceremony and witnessed a performance.

Zhang Haifeng delivered a speech at the ceremony expressing his appreciation to IMNU teachers and students who actively participated and won medals in different sporting activities over the past year.

Sports can not only improve students’ physical ability, but strengthen their perseverance. Zhang also expressed the hope that through the sports meeting, more IMNU students can walk out of classrooms and dorms to exercise.
