The School of Basic Education was established in 2007. Focused on normal education and education for the minority nationalities, it is aimed at cultivating professional primary school teachers for Inner Mongolia autonomous region and other regions.

There are 883 undergraduates, 434 junior college students, 118 preparatory college students studying majors including primary education, education for the minority nationalities and pre-school education. It has more than 70 full-time and part-time teachers.  

Covering an area of more than 7,000 square meters, the school has two teaching buildings, a computer classroom, a multimedia classroom, a dancing room, an audio-visual teaching classroom, an art studio, and an education center of calligraphy. 

The school has established a professional team consisting of energetic and innovative teachers.

Under the principle of keeping pace with time, it adopts the teaching philosophy of focusing on practice. It has opened up featured courses, and developed extracurricular activities to improve the comprehensive ability of college students, wining wide acclaim from education authorities and employers.
