A signing ceremony of Chinese and foreign universities was held at the Inner Mongolia International Exhibition Center on Sept 26, part of the 2nd China-Mongolia Expo. 

Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU) signed cooperation agreements with four foreign universities at the ceremony, namely the Mongolian State University of Education, the St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television, the Tajik State Pedagogical University and Uzbekistan's Tashkent State Normal University.

IMNU's President Yun Guohong and vice presidents Zhang Haifeng and Zhao Donghai signed on the agreements.

There were nine foreign universities from six countries and five from Inner Mongolia signing agreements during the event.

Both the number of countries and universities involved were the largest ever, making the event more significant and develop firmly.

Other foreign universities included the Mongolia University of Science and Technology, Krasnoyarsk State Agricultural University, the Irkutsk State University of Agriculture, the Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School (BMIHMS), and Woosuk University. 

After the signing ceremony, IMNU's Vice President Zhang Haifeng met with representatives from the University of Waikato, the College of Dunaújváros and the BMIHMS, hoping to bring about further educational exchanges and cooperation.

Officials attending the signing ceremony included Cheng Jiacai, deputy director of the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE); D. Odgerel, director of the administrative department in Mongolia's Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports; Tovuu Sayzana, vice minister of education and science of the Tuvan People's Republic, part of the Russian Federation; Hou Yuan, director of the region's education department; and Zhang Yamin, its deputy director.
