College of Educational Information Technology
The College of Educational Information Technology grew out of the former Audio-visual Education Center and the Department of Audio-visual Education of IMNU. It was one of the earliest teaching unit to set up the major, and is also a pioneering school for education in modern educational technology. It was renamed the School of Information Technology in Education in September 2016.
The College of Educational Information Technology trains undergraduates and postgraduates in educational technology. In the past 30 years, it has cultivated more than 5,000 graduates.
The college provides a compulsory course called Application of modern educational technology and several optional courses. In 2004, its Modern Educational Technology Training Center was named an experimental demonstration center for undergraduate teaching in the autonomous region.
The college boasts experienced teaching staff, and has a influence in similar majors throughout the country.
The college has a good spatial arrangement. It has 3 undergraduate teaching rooms, a postgraduate room and nonlinear editing laboratory, a network technology laboratory, a VR laboratory, a panoramic camera laboratory, a teaching behavior observation laboratory, a teaching resource development room and a number of small teaching workshops. It is equipped with 200 teaching computers, 50 video cameras, 160 tablet computers, and 10 suits of digital audio equipment. The total value of the teaching instruments is nearly 6 million yuan.
The college has organized many domestic professional academic exchanges. In July 2007, it organized the third annual conference of the Educational Professional Committee of the China Educational Technology Association, which was attended by more than 140 professionals and teachers. In August 2010, it hosted an influential teaching technique seminar.
The college has made many achievements. In 2005, the modern educational technology course was included in the first group of top-quality courses in the autonomous region. In 2006, the course of information technology teaching was rated as an excellent course in the autonomous region. Nine courses have been acknowledged as excellent courses at the university level since 2006. In 2007, educational technology was listed as a brand major in the autonomous region. Over the past decade, teachers at the school have led more than 50 projects and published more than 200 papers, winning more than 20 scientific research awards.
