A cultural event of this year’s international conference to commemorate the 2575th anniversary of Confucius’ birth and the 7th Congress of the ICA, which will take place in Beijing from Oct 19 to 21, the calligraphy exhibition showcases over 80 pieces of artwork, including works by the ICA’s presidents, advisor, councilors, and members, as well as by renowned calligraphers.

Through the unique expression of calligraphy, it aims to promote Chinese traditional culture, advance the creative transformation and innovative development of Confucianism and Chinese traditional culture, and facilitate international cultural exchanges and mutual learning, according to the organizers.

Addressing the opening ceremony, the ICA’s Executive Vice President Ding Wei highlighted that the calligraphy exhibition, held in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 2575th anniversary of Confucius' birth, is a joyous event in the field of Confucian culture.

“Chinese calligraphy is an essential part of Chinese culture and a precious heritage of human civilization. Confucian thought imbues Chinese calligraphy with profound cultural connotations, making it an art form that transcends mere words”, Ding said.
