Hohhot holds demonstration, exchange event on civilized rural customs
A demonstration and exchange event on civilized rural customs across Inner Mongolia autonomous region was held in Huimin district, Hohhot, on Sep 16.
Featuring on-site visits, panel discussions, cultural performances, and thematic exhibitions, the event presented a comprehensive showcase of Inner Mongolia's achievements in promoting civilized rural customs.
A thematic art, photography, and folk art exhibition remained open until Sept 20. Organized into three sections, the exhibition featured paintings, photographic works, and folk art pieces that captured the rapid transformation of rural and pastoral areas across the region, as well as the simple customs of rural life.
Adjacent to the exhibition area, a reading program for senior citizens was simultaneously launched, where elderly participants gathered to read and share their thoughts.
A themed activity on family traditions and the passing down of family values gave community members a chance to exchange stories about exemplary family traditions.
A program offering copyright protection services to the public was also launched, with experts on hand to answer questions from young creators.
A regional symposium on advancing civilized rural customs was convened. The symposium communicated the guiding principles of the 2026 China Rural Civility Conference, released a list of exemplary cases in civilized rural customs development for 2026, and announced the winners of the 2026 New-Era Civilization Practice Project Competition.
Another event showcasing outstanding performances was held to promote local customs. Through storytelling, skits, and clapper talk, the performances brought to life the vibrant grassroots efforts to transform outdated social customs in rural and pastoral communities.
