Hohhot unveils activities for Mid-Autumn Festival, National Day
Hohhot held a media briefing at Hadamen National Forest Park to unveil its 2026 Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day cultural and tourism series.
From Sept 25 to Oct 7, the program features a total of 94 cultural and tourism activities.
Anchored in four major venues – Saishang Old Street, the Daheihe Military Culture Park, the Chilechuan Grassland, and the Yili Modern Smart Health Valley – the event integrates cultural and tourism resources across the city's scenic areas, museums, and commercial zones.
The Mid-Autumn Festival segment, scheduled for Sept 25-27, will feature a moon-palace-themed parade and a moonlit pavilion concert at Saishang Old Street; a trendy Chinese-style music night at the Daheihe Military Culture Park; and a sunset concert on the Chilechuan Grassland.
The National Day segment will run from Sept 30 to Oct 6. The Yili Smart Health Valley will stage red-song choral performances, trendy music shows, and a drone light show. Saishang Old Street will host a shaomai (steamed dumpling) festival alongside acrobatic theater performances. The Daheihe Military Culture Park will present an urban Naadam, featuring a rotating lineup of Mongolian wrestling (bokh), archery, molten iron fireworks, and bonfire parties. The Chilechuan Grassland will continue to offer live immersive performances and cultural shows.
In parallel, three premium autumn travel routes have been introduced. The first connects major museums, cultural venues, and commercial zones, offering courtyard moon-viewing and live immersive performances. The second covers scenic spots including Daqingshan Mountain, the Chilechuan Grassland, and Laoniu Bay. The third combines industrial attractions with rural destinations, catering to study tours and leisure experiences.
