26th Hohhot Zhaojun Cultural Festival hosts spectacular lineup of events
A promotional conference for the 26th Hohhot Zhaojun Cultural Festival took place at the Zhaojun Museum on Aug 17. This year's Hohhot Zhaojun Cultural Festival runs from Aug 15 to 30, offering residents and visitors a rich and diverse cultural tourism experience.
The festival integrates core resources including the Zhaojun Museum, Chilchuan Grassland, Saishang Old Street leisure district, and major commercial hubs into a comprehensive matrix of stage performances, nighttime tours, specialty markets, grassland celebrations, and consumer carnivals.

The festival emphasizes multi-layered, inclusive programming, with the entire opening series of performances free to the public. From Aug 22 to 23, the Zhaojun Museum hosted a continuation of community performances and multicultural showcases. A restaging of the opening ceremony's grand production was launched on Aug 22, using lasers, holographic projection, and water-mist imaging to create an immersive real-scene stage embodying the spirit of ethnic unity and harmonious coexistence.
The museum has also launched a 60-minute immersive walk-through theater production featuring live NPC interactive stations since Aug 15.
A "Twin Cities" marketplace runs concurrently, spotlighting specialty products from Xingshan county in Hubei province – Zhaojun's hometown – alongside cultural creative products inspired by Hohhot's grasslands, creating a lively north-south exchange pathway for Zhaojun-themed heritage goods.
