With the implementation of a new ceramic membrane filtration process, Inner Mongolia Jinhe Donghui Biotechnology Co has completed the latest iteration of its production process, reducing overall production costs by 3 to 5 percent.

During the Inner Mongolia Ruifen Biotechnology Co's co-production process for erythritol and allulose, the microbial strain used to cultivate erythritol can serve directly as the biocatalyst source for the allulose enzymatic conversion process. This has enabled Ruifen Bio to increase enzyme activity in production by 20 percent, raise raw material conversion rates by 5 percent, shorten enzymatic conversion time by 30 percent, reduce production costs by 10 percent, and cut overall energy consumption by 15 percent.

From 2020 to 2025, the output value of the city's biomanufacturing industrial cluster grew from 13.11 billion yuan to 20.39 billion yuan; the number of industrial enterprises above designated size increased from 21 to 34; R&D institutions grew from 79 to 178; and drug registration approvals rose from 484 to 811.

The city has now established three national key laboratories in the field of animal vaccines. Two national technology innovation centers – for the dairy industry and the grassland industry – have been approved and launched. Moreover, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Animal Vaccine Technology Innovation Center has been built.
