In recent years, Hohhot has focused on cultivating family farms and ranches, promoting the transformation and upgrading of agricultural and pastoral business entities and providing new ways for farmers to increase their income.

Zhao Yanhong, a resident of Bikeqi town, Tumd Left Banner, is a farm owner who started her entrepreneurial journey in 2013. Her operation has grown to encompass 48 mu (3.2 hectares) of livestock facilities and 120 mu of cultivated land. Her farm now sells over 15,000 free-range roosters and produces more than 20,000 kilograms of free-range eggs annually, providing employment for 15 local villagers.

In Tabusai town, Tumd Left Banner, a family farm introduced Simmental beef cattle in 2014 to improve its herd breed. It grows over 700 mu of high-quality forage grass and has registered a trademark, "Chengliu Deyu Ranch", for live-stream e-commerce sales.

Across Hohhot's nine banners, districts, and counties, 2,254 family farms and ranches have been certified, with 1,133 assigned "One-Code Pass" digital codes. The standardization and operational capabilities of these farms continue to improve.

Through appropriately scaled land management, adoption of advanced agricultural techniques, and direct production-sales linkages, various family farms have benefited anywhere from a few to several dozen households.
