Togtoh's industries power rural vitalization
In recent years, Togtoh county in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region has tapped into its distinctive local resources to build robust rural industries. Leveraging the ecological assets of the Yellow River, the county has developed new tourism formats, adding a vibrant chapter to its rural vitalization story.
The Gengjia Taoyu Rural Experience Park opened in October 2024, breaking through the bottleneck of the area's traditional, single-focus aquaculture model.
The project has radiated outward to support 10,784 mu (718.93 hectares) of surrounding aquaculture operations. It has also attracted over 100,000 visits to date, and helped local villagers achieve stable employment and income growth right in their own backyard.

During this year's May Day holiday, Togtoh's tourism market delivered an impressive performance: the county welcomed 65,800 visits and generated 6.28 million yuan ($920,000) in tourism revenue.
Of this total, scenic areas received 40,800 visits and brought in 4.68 million yuan, while farm-stay operations hosted 25,000 visits and earned 1.60 million yuan.

Local specialty products, including chili peppers, cumin, grapes, and Yellow River aquatic products, have become popular souvenirs, with farm-fresh goods translating directly into income for local residents.
