China Railway Hohhot Bureau Group dispatched a cumulative total of 1.04 million passengers from May 1 to May 5, representing a year-on-year increase of 5.2 percent. The bureau dispatched 274,000 passengers on May 1 alone, up 2.5 percent from the same period last year and setting a new record for single-day passenger dispatch volume.

During this year's May Day holiday, travel demand saw a notable upward trend. In response, the bureau optimized transportation resources in a coordinated manner, leveraging big data from the Railway 12306 platform to track passenger flows in real time. The bureau implemented comprehensive transportation solutions on high-demand routes, including the operation of overnight high-speed services, coupled running of multiple-unit trains, and the deployment of additional temporary passenger trains.
Throughout the holiday period, the bureau operated an average of 184 passenger trains daily, with peak-day operations reaching 191 trains.
To enhance the passenger travel experience, major railway stations under the jurisdiction of the bureau refined priority service procedures at information desks during the holiday period. Dedicated green priority channels were established for key passenger groups, including the elderly, children, the infirm, passengers with disabilities, and pregnant women, with full-journey one-on-one guidance services provided.
At stations with high passenger traffic, additional security screening channels and self-service ticket-checking terminals were opened, with strengthened passenger guidance and order maintenance in critical areas such as waiting halls. At key passenger stations, close coordination was maintained with local transportation authorities to ensure seamless connectivity with buses, subways, taxis, and other modes of transport.
