Hohhot ranks among top 100 cities nationwide for innovation capability
The Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China released the "National Innovative City Innovation Capability Evaluation Report 2025". According to the report, Hohhot in Inner Mongolia autonomous region ranks 66th on the list of the Top 100 Cities Nationwide for Innovation Capability.

Hohhot is home to 70 percent of the higher education resources, 40 percent of the research institutions, and 36 percent of the high-tech enterprises in the autonomous region, with 25 universities located in the city, making it the region's premier talent and innovation hub.
The year 2025 was a crucial year for Hohhot's technological innovation efforts. The city achieved a series of significant technological breakthroughs in key areas such as the dairy industry and artificial intelligence.
The quality of its innovation platforms rapidly improved. National-level innovation platforms focused on tackling core technologies, and the number of high-tech enterprises has remained the highest in the autonomous region.
In the future, Hohhot will align with major national and regional strategies, deepen reforms related to science and technology, optimize the talent development ecosystem, and promote the thorough integration of technological innovation and industrial innovation.
