Hohhot beats expectations in attracting talents from 2021 to 2025
During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), the Hohhot municipal bureau of human resources and social security had focused on the construction of an employment-friendly city for youth.
Hohhot had attracted 209,500 young talents for employment and entrepreneurship. Over the past five years, focusing on the "six major industrial clusters" and key industrial chains, the city had offered more than 300,000 jobs, with over 40,000 high-level talent positions announced.
The city also organized 264 examinations during this period. It introduced 22 policy measures and established platforms like innovation and entrepreneurship demonstration bases for university students.
Over the past five years, eight experts received special government allowances from the State Council, and 10 were recognized for their outstanding contributions at the autonomous-region level.
About 52 postdoctoral research stations were established. The city also added 38,000 professional and technical talents, with over 70 percent being mid-to-high level. During this period, 149,800 skilled talents were added, with 38 percent being highly-skilled.
The city disbursed 117 million yuan ($16.77 million) in funds, including rental and purchase subsidies for university students, during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.
It developed a one-stop employment service platform for talents, and introduced eight support measures. In total some 161 agencies have settled in the Hohhot Human Resources Service Industrial Park, with cumulative revenue reaching 11.55 billion yuan.
