Three villages in Hohhot, in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, were selected in the second batch of national key agritourism villages, as released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, according to local officials.

The three villages are Wusutu village located in Youyouban town of Huimin district, Shirenwan village located in Huangheshao town in Saihan district and Haojiayao village located in Togtoh county.

Under the requirements of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the standards that national key rural tourism villages should have include:

Cultural and tourism resources that are enriched and developed reasonably;

Rural cultural inheritance and protection that is well developed;

A tourism product system that is mature and of high quality;

The development of homestays has a distinctive theme, is standardized and orderly;

Beautiful and livable ecological environment;

Relatively complete infrastructure and public services;

Sound and reasonable system and mechanism, efficient operation;

Obvious benefits in promoting entrepreneurship and employment, economic and social development.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism will support the construction of infrastructure, public service facilities and key tourism projects in key agritourism villages throughout the country, as well as key marketing activities.

It will also encourage local governments to use various funding channels to support national and provincial key agritourism villages.
