H7N9 patient cured in Hechi
A case of bird flu, H7N9, was successfully treated at Hechi People's Hospital on April 11.
The patient, a 48-year-old male surnamed Li, was in a severe condition when sent to the hospital on March 13, with symptoms of a high fever, coughing, and blurred vision.
After 29 days of treatment, Li's signs of the infection had significantly reduced enough for him to be discharged from the hospital.

Li's doctor, Lu Jiabin, advised his patient to take rest, avoid alcohol and keep warm.
Liu Seyang, head of the hospital's department of critical care medicine, said this was the first successful treatment of bird flu for the hospital. He urged local residents to pay more attention to the infection, and try to get treatment as soon as possible.
The hospital will keep track on Li's condition and carry out a check-up in two weeks time.

H7N9 is a strain of bird flu first reported to have infected humans in China in March 2013. Infections are most likely to occur in winter and spring.
Disease control and prevention experts agree that the H7N9 virus is not transmitted from person to person.
Experts recommend that people avoid contact with poultry.
