Hechi strikes balance between development and environment
Hechi city of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region was once known as the "city of non-ferrous metal" due to its flourishing metals industry.
As environmental protection became a priority of the autonomous region, the Hechi government implemented strict control regulations on non-ferrous metal processing factories, closing 96 factories that didn't meet with environmentally friendly standards.
