Nandan, a county boasting rugged topography in Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region will host the third section of 2017 National Mountain Cycling Championships from April 11 to 12.

Considered an ideal place for cycling, Nandan also hosted the Rim Hongshui River Mountain International Bike Race on Dec 23 last year, attracting more than 100 mountain bikers from home and abroad to compete.

This year's national mountain cycling championships will witness 110 professional cyclists from 10 provinces and cities racing across five domestic locations, Nandan being the third with its advantaged topography.

The race is sponsored by the General Administration of Sports and the Chinese Cycling Association.

"The event provides a good opportunity for Nandan to promote its local sports sector," said Lu Haisheng, deputy mayor of Hechi.
