Tourism project makes progress in Bama
An international resort dedicated to promoting health and longevity is to be built in the township of Cifu, in Bama Yao autonomous county, Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
Bama is well-known for being a beacon for longevity, with an average life expectancy of 85 years, 10 years more than the national average.
The resort, which started construction in June last year, is a major part of the Bama Longevity Promotion International Tourist Base. The first phase will cover an area of 242 mu (16.13 hectares), with total investment of 600 million yuan ($87.5 million).
The first phase will include a public square featuring cultural elements of the Yao ethnic group, as well as a park and green spaces.
The project is 50 percent complete, with 44 guest buildings constructed so far, and is scheduled to open to the public at the end of 2017.
