Hechi villages rated most livable

The credentials of rural tourism in Hechi has been boosted after two of its villages received national recognition for their picturesque scenery and well-preserved environment.

Xiaolong village and Dading village were honored as national most livable villages in a list released by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, in January.

Hechi, a city of in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, is home to a rich variety of scenic areas boasting natural scenery and unique geography.

Xiaolong village is situated to the north of Liusanjie, a town named after an ancient famous female folk singer. Transportation to the village is convenient, with a national second level highway connected it to downtown Yizhou.

The Xiajian River slices Xiaolong village in two from north to south, creating a landscape of peaks and gorges. Running like a seam of silk, the river has become a major tourist attraction as of itself.

Other attractions include Longzhou Island and Liumeitun, which are popular with visitors and ideal for rafting.

Dading village is famed for its rattan weaving, a tradition that stretches back hundreds of years in the area.

Taking advantage of its rich natural resources, Dading has established vegetable gardens and farm-featured outdoor activities such as barbecuing, swimming, and fishing to attract more visitors and promote its local culture.
