Hechi city stadium set for expansion

A topping off ceremony was held at Hechi Professional Education Center on Dec 30, to celebrate the start of the construction of the city stadium.

The 160-million yuan ($23.11 million) project will cover an area of 70 mu (about 5 hectares), with separate sections catering for various sports such as high and long jump, shot put, and javelin.

A running track with 36.5 meter-long radial curve and a football field will be built, both well-equipped to meet the requirements of regional sports events. A 192-bay car park will be built along with 500 spaces for bicycles.

An extra teaching building for professional education will start construction at the same time. The building costs 60 million yuan, and is scheduled to be completed in just 570 days, 230 days earlier than the stadium.
