Major natural wonders in Hehci I

Hechi, located in northwestern Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, is on the south end of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, circumscribed by mountain ranges including the Jiuwangda Mountains in the north, the Phoenix Mountains in the northwest, the Fengling Mountain in the east and the Duyang Mountains in the west.

With naturally advantaged geographic conditions, Hechi boasts rich natural resources that have evolved into popular tourist attractions such as the Qibainong National Geological Park and the Crystal Palace, as well as other spots that have been selected as the top natural wonders in Hechi.

Yuanyang Spring in Fengshan county

Fengshan sees a higher rate of twin babies than the national average, and many local residents owe it to the special water of Yuanyang Spring.

The spring, located at the foot of the Phoenix Mountains, has two active vents 40 meters away from each other. They are named as "male and female springs" by the local residents.

It became a tradition for new local couples to draw water from the spring, the wife drinking water from the "female vent" and the husband drinking water from the "male vent", hoping to give birth to twin babies.

The "ancient forest that floated above the city" in Tian'e county

Longtan Grand Canyon Forest Park was awarded as a national AAAA scenic spot in 2015.

Longtan Grand Canyon, with high and steep mountain peaks on both sides, is 15 km long. The park, therefore, was named as the "forest that floated above the city".

China's third largest hydropower project – Longtan Hydropower Station – is located upstream of the Hongshui River Valley. Longtan National Forest Park, as the only national forest park in Hechi, was recognized as a national level forest park in 2008 and was approved as a national 3A-level scenic spot in 2010. With a total area of 4,172 hectares, the park has a forest coverage rate of 96.41 percent.
