There is a Chinese saying that goes “food is the first need for people”. Special local foods, in some aspects, can be regarded as one of the important reflections of local culture and history.

Various types of foods in the city of Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, may not enjoy a level of fame as high as the eight major cuisines of China, but are surely delicious enough to seize the taste buds of local residents as well as tourists.

Aiciba, a kind of special cake made of glutinous rice powder and tender wormwood, has an aroma that seemingly announces the cake's unique taste.
