Parts of Chengjiang National Wetland Park plan pass review
The construction plan for the science popularization, publicity and education area and management service area of the Chengjiang National Wetland Park passed an expert review on March 18.
The experts came from the Forestry Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. They made the decision after an on-site investigation, hearing reports, watching videos and checking planning documents at the wetland park in Du'an Yao autonomous county in Hechi, Guangxi.
The Chengjiang National Wetland Park is planned to cover a total area of 864 hectares, with a width of 11.7 km and a length of 24.2 km. Its wetland area is 474.12 hectares, amounting to 54.87 percent of the whole park. The area has unique karst skylights, a clint landscape, abundant wetland flora and fauna, and a complex ecosystem including wetland, cropland and forest. The part will also highlight the folk culture of the Bunu Yao ethnic minority.
Du'an county plans to complete the construction of the park in 2017 and open it the year after.
