Talent numbers up in Hechi
Hechi in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has increased its number of talented and highly-skilled workers over the period of the 12th Five-Year Plan from 2011 to 2015.
The city is currently home to 59,700 professional and technical personnel and 8,900 high-skilled talents, an increase of 11.6 percent and 128.2 percent respectively compared to 2009.
The percentage of workers with college degrees or above increased to 87 percent, with 7.9 percent having senior professional technical qualifications and 50.4 percent having middle-class technical qualifications.
Key industries such as education and healthcare have seen the biggest increases in talent, attracting 87.77 percent of the city's professionals.
The total number of talents in the private sector reached 5,120, an increase of 62 percent compared to 2009, showing that private enterprises are contributing more to talent training and development in Hechi.
During the last Five-Year Plan, Hechi introduced improved talent training, carrying out 1,380 sessions, benefitting 69,000 people. It also trained 1,024 city employees and 5,473 entrepreneurs. In the past five years, the city government recruited 467 talents coming from other cities and regions.
