Jinchengjiang hosts tight-knit embroidery competition
Jinchengjiang district in Hechi, Guangxi, organized an embroidery competition for women of the Yao ethnic minority on March 7.
The competition aimed to popularize traditional culture and help local Yao women start their own businesses or find employment.
The competition was made up of two parts, product display and on-site embroidering. More than 30 contestants took part to show off their skills, attracting a large audience.
After the competition, Jinchengjiang district will bring embroidery enterprises to the area in a bid to decrease the female unemployment rate.
