Hechi power station stays abuzz during Spring Festival

The power grid in Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, coped well under the strain of peak usage during the Spring Festival holiday from Feb 7 to 13.

The peak electrical load for any one time reached 83.42 gW with maximum daily usage reaching 1,531.44 gW.

In order to ensure steady power supply to the city, a total of 2,981 workers at the power station toiled through the seven day holiday period instead of returning home to their families.
