Hechi transports 580,000 passengers during Spring Festival holiday
Hechi in Guangxi transported a total of 580,000 passengers during the seven-day Spring Festival holiday from Feb 7 to 13, according to local transportation department.
Road passenger transportation plays leading role
Data from Hechi transportation administrative department showed that bus stations in Hechi sent off 39,043 buses in total during the Spring Festival holiday, with 875 added. They transported more than 466,600 passengers, generating revenue of 23.34 million yuan ($3.58 million).
Although the number of buses, the number of passengers and the amount of income all suffered a decrease, road transportation still played a leading role in all kinds of modes of transport during the holiday.
Special trains offered for migrant workers
Hechi is a leading city of labor export and most of the laborers work in Guangdong province. To guarantee migrant workers' safe and smooth return to their posts, Jinchengjiang Railway Station has offered special trains for local migrant workers to Guangzhou for years.
From Feb 7 to 13, Jinchengjiang Railway Station transported more than 16,140 passengers.
100,000 people travel by boat and air
The Hongshui River basin in Hechi has 47 wharfs and 83 ferries. People living there mainly travel by boat during the Spring Festival holiday. The Hechi marine board arranged 89 law enforcement officers to examine 236 boats and corrected 16 safety loopholes. No maritime accident happened during the holiday period.
Thanks to the clear weather during Spring Festival, flights took off and landed at Hechi with no delay. A total of 16 flights transported 708 passengers in total, with 610 leaving and 98 arriving.
