Dahua sees steady growth in tourism during Spring Festival
More than 75,000 tourists descended on Dahua Yao autonomous county in Hechi, Guangxi over the Spring Festival period (Feb 7-13), marking a 15 percent increase in numbers from 2015.
Income from the holiday rose to nearly 30 million yuan ($4.6 million), up 12 percent from the previous year.
The most crowded tourist attractions were the Lotus Mountain and the Qibainong National Geological Park, though the scenic spots reported no complaints from the increase in visitor numbers, the government reported.
According to current statistics, all the scenic spots in the county received 15 percent more tourists over the same period as last year, with foreign tourists accounting for about 70 percent of the visitor number.
