Jinchengjiang's first cultivation cooperative union established
The opening ceremony for Jinchengjiang district's first farmers' cultivation cooperative union was recently held in Hechi, Guangxi.
The union was approved by the Jinchengjiang district industrial and commercial bureau on Dec 30, 2015, and is made up of six goat cultivation cooperatives, comprising 180 farmer households. The current goat population is 10,000 with an annual yield of 5.6 million yuan ($851,200).
The cooperative union aims to promote sales of goats as well as popularizing excellent goat breeds and preserving and breeding black goats.
Plans are in place to increase members to 400 households and double the goat population within the next three years.
"Our aim is to occupy more than 40 percent of the market in Jinchengjiang district," a spokesperson said.
