Dahua painting exhibition recalls nostalgia

The "Recall of Nostalgia" Painting Exhibition was held at the Dahua Calligraphy and Painting Academy in Dahua, Hechi, Guangxi, on Dec 30, 2015.

The exhibition was sponsored by the literary federation of Dahua Yao autonomous county and organized by the Dahua Artists' Association.

More than 100 art lovers from all walks of life and teachers and students of the academy attended the opening ceremony.

Over 30 oil paintings and watercolors created by local painters were displayed at the exhibition. The works depicted the reality of life in local styles.

According to Huang Ge, chairman of the Dahua Literary Federation, the exhibition was a call for the protection of the rural natural environment and appreciation of the importance of traditional culture and customs. It hoped to strengthen national cohesion and cultural self-confidence.

The works will be given free to local residents to celebrate the Spring Festival of 2016.
