More than half of Guangxi farmer households use marsh gas to cook

The latest data released by Guangxi Forestry Department show that Guangxi has established 4.06 million biogas digesters so far, offering marsh gas to 50.7 percent of local farmer households.

More than 2.5 million households in rural areas bid farewell to wood fuel thanks to the biogas digesters, benefiting 20 million people in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

The biogas digesters also help reduce use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides by more than 20 percent by disposing of 79 million tons of organic refuses such as feces every year.
