Hechi has introduced the real-name delivery for postal packages starting from Nov 1, the Hechi postal administration department announced.

As an increasing number of domestic and foreign criminals were identified to be taking advantage of postal package delivery method to smuggle and traffic prohibited goods such as drugs, explosives, guns, ammunitions and counterfeit money, which pose serious threat to the country's national and public security, the State Post Bureau now require for ordinary customers to show a valid ID and truthfully write down their personal details such as names, addresses and telephone numbers of both the sender and the receiver and the name, category and quantity of the consignment when sending packages.

If customers refuse to show a valid ID or do not abide by the rules, their request to send or receive packages will be rejected by carrier companies.

The introduction of real-name delivery is of significance to standardize and improve the postal industry and safeguard public security, officials stated.
