Guangxi to issue new food production and business certificates

The Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region will start issuing new food production licenses from Nov 1, and new business certificates from Dec 1, according to Guangxi Food and Drug Administration.

With the new Food Safety Law taking effect on Oct 1, Guangxi has made some adjustments accordingly. The government did some modifications to improve food safety supervision and management, reinforce food production management process, increase enterprises' responsibility as well as punishment for illegal acts.

It was also announced that the "QS" label in food production permits will be replaced by "SC" label after the issuance of new food production licenses this year. However, the existing "QS" food packaging and labeling will still be in use until Oct 2018, which means both the "QS" and "SC" marked food packages will co-exist in the market until then.
