Leader training session of Guangxi rural youth palaces held in Hechi
The leader training session of Guangxi rural youth palaces funded by the central lottery public welfare fund was held at Nandan county in Hechi on Oct 15.
Yang Zhengwen, director of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Civilization Office, participated in the training session and reminded the departments of the significance of the rural youth palaces. He said that the government should enhance the service efficiency of the project funding, strengthen the team building capacity of instructors, implement more innovative teaching formats and support comprehensive development of rural youth palaces.
Jointly sponsored by the Central Civilization Office, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Education, the youth palaces are public benefit organizations. They cover courses such as literature, art, sports, science, handwork and reading to cultivate children's interests and increase their knowledge.
From 2011 to 2015, the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has established a total of 462 rural youth palaces, covering 41 percent of villages and towns with a 132-million yuan ($20.8 million) special fund from the central governmental lottery public welfare fund. Hechi has constructed 52 rural youth palaces, covering 26,000 square meters in its 11 counties and districts over five years, benefitting more than 50,000 local students.
