The commemorative coins issued by the People's Bank of China for the 70th anniversary of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War became available in Hechi on Oct 12.

Local residents formed long queues to own the special coins that signify the importance of the historic day. Those who want to get the commemorative coins are required to show their personal identification cards.

The nominal value of a commemorative coin is one yuan ($0.16) and one person can only exchange three coins in each bank branch. The commemorative coin uses nickel steel-clad material, with a diameter of 25 millimeters. The frontal pattern shows peace doves, the Great Wall, the number "70", the date 1945-2015 and the one yuan nominal value, while the reverse side has a national emblem and indicates the year "2015".

The commemorative coin can circulate in the market, equivalent to one yuan. Its limited nationwide quantity is only 500 million.
