Hechi gains 12.5b yuan tourism income in first eight months this year

The tourist income of Hechi from January to August this year stands at about 12.5 billion yuan ($1.96 billion), an increase of 22.57 percent over the same period last year.

A total of 12.48 million tourists visited the city during the eight months, including 12.41 million domestic tourists and 68,200 inbound tourists.

The domestic tourism income is about 12.3 billion yuan with an increase of 22.66 percent compared with the same period last year, while international tourism receipt reached $28.6 million, an increase of 16.22 percent.

The Hechi municipal Party committee and local government have paid high attention to the development of the tourism industry this year. The Bama Longevity International Tourism Resort was regarded as one of the key projects. During the period, the Resort received about 7 million domestic and foreign tourists, gaining a total income of 6.94 billion yuan.
