Farmers in Tian'e county, Hechi, Guangxi, are busy harvesting rice recently.

Tian'e county has planted a total of 47,000 mu (3,133.3 hectares) of rice this year. At present, 3,500 mu paddies have become mature and 2,300 mu of them have been harvested.

Tian'e received special subsidies from the central government this year to prevent and treat crop diseases and pests, which helped protect 30,000 mu paddies. The loss ratio caused by serious diseases and pests has been kept to minimum, less than 5 percent this year.
