SJTU establishes employment practice base in Du'an

A six-member team from Shanghai Jiaotong University (SJTU) recently visited the Lingang Industrial Zone in Du'an, Hechi, and established an employment practice base in the Zone, Hechi Daily reported.

SJTU signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region early in 2011. It agreed to select about 10 graduates to Guangxi every year to help develop local economy. It also encourages graduates to seek employment in national key industries and in central and western regions.

SJTU agreed to recommend outstanding graduates to work in Lingang Industrial Zone. The industrial zone will in return provide internship, training and employment opportunities to the students from the university. The bilateral cooperation will help graduates practice skills, while promoting Hechi's innovative industrial development.

With more than 20 billion yuan ($3.22 billion) of investment and a total planning area of 30 square kilometers, Lingang Industrial Zone specializes in port and poverty alleviation industries.
