Dahua awarded 'Chinese longevity village'
The Dahua Yao autonomous county was awarded the title of "Chinese longevity village" on June 25, the fifth Hechi county to win the honor.
Located in the middle of the Hongshui River in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, Dahua has the most typical karst landscape in the world. It has moderate temperature, abundant rainfall and a three-time forest coverage rate than the national average level, honored as a "natural air anion bar".
In recent years, Dahua has worked to become a national key ecological county, develop modern ecological characteristic agriculture and create a food safety manufacturing base. According to the 6th general population census in 2010, the average life expectancy in Dahua is 77.94 years old. The county had 88 centenarians in 2013, 19.58 per 100,000 people.
Dahua started declaration work at the end of 2013 and finally won the title after inspection, evaluation and certification.
