Huang Shiyong wins title of 'National Defense Star'

Huang Shiyong, Hechi municipal Party secretary, won the title "National Defense Star" at the 10th plenary session of the Guangzhou Military Regional National Defense Mobilization Commission in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, on June 12.

Organized by the Guangzhou Military Regional National Defense Mobilization Commission, the "National Defense Star" appraisal activity has been held every two years since 2003, seven times in total so far. The title is awarded to Party and government leaders, functionaries, entrepreneurs, and other people who support national defense and army construction in Henan, Hubei, Hunan, and Guangdong province or the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

A total of 44 candidates won the title this year, 10 of whom were from Guangxi.

In recent years, Hechi has strived to carry out mass national defense education, support the army and give preferential treatment to the families of servicemen and martyrs.

Huang said that the honor of the "National Defense Star" belongs to 4.2 million Hechi people. It is achieved by all the Hechi residents and the officers and soldiers stationed in Hechi. He will continue to support national defense construction and promote the development of Hechi.
