Hechi endures year's heaviest rainfall

Hechi suffered the strongest rainfall in recent days and the rain in many areas turned into floods.
The rain was jointly influenced by upper trough and low vortex-shear line.
According to Hechi Flood Control Office on June 14, the Dahua, Du'an and Bama Yao autonomous counties, and Luocheng Mulao autonomous county were heavily hit by the rain. The water level of several rivers came close to the warning line.

The rain caused flash floods and landslides which led to traffic interruption. Some parts of local farmlands were submerged and crops were seriously damaged.
Local residents have been mobilized to reduce damage. Rescue and relief work is in progress orderly.
According to Guangxi Department of Civil Affairs, up to 4pm on June 15, the disaster affected 455,100 people within 36 counties in 10 cities in Guangxi. Three people were dead and five were missing. The damage area of crops in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has reached 28,630 hectares and 682 rooms have collapsed.
