Yizhou's first grape festival kicked off at Yizhou Modern Characteristic Agricultural Demonstration Zone on June 13.

The festival was sponsored by Yizhou municipal people's government, aiming to further enhance the construction level of Yizhou Modern Characteristic Agricultural Demonstration Zone, increase brand awareness of local grapes and promote rapid development of local leisure tourism agriculture.

Yizhou Modern Characteristic Agricultural Demonstration Zone has cycle lanes for parents and children traveling there. Integrating leisure, cycling, picking and amusement, the demonstration zone is a good choice of rural travel for Yizhou, Hechi and Liuzhou residents.

According to Zhou Fei, Yizhou municipal Party secretary, Yizhou is one of the 20 characteristic tourism counties in Guangxi. Yizhou's focus this year is rural tourism and many works have been done in this field to improve local tourism industry.

Yizhou, a county-level city in Hechi, Guangxi, is a cultural old city with a history over 2,100 years. As the hometown of Liu Sanjie (a well-known folk song singer from the Zhuang ethnic group) and the birthplace of China's first villagers' committee, Yizhou has beautiful scenery, characteristic folk culture and abundant tourism resources. It is also the biggest silkworm producing county nationwide and Guangxi's cocoon silk recycling economic demonstration base.
