Hechi attends maritime dragon boat race

A 22 person team from Hechi's Huanjing Maonan autonomous county participated in the 2015 Fangchenggang "Zhongxin Cup" Maritime Dragon Boat Race held at the sea area of West Bay Cross-sea Bridge in Gangkou district from 2 pm to 6 pm on June 14.

The race was sponsored by Fangchenggang Chinese Culture Promotion Society and jointly organized by Guangxi Shenglong Metallurgy Company, the Company of Fangchenggang Port and Fangchenggang Tiantianfei Aerial Photography Media Company.

A total of 19 foreign and domestic teams took part to contend for the awards. Eleven teams were in the 22 person group and eight were in the 14 person group. All the participating teams acquired encouragement awards. The winner of the 22 person group won 25,000 yuan ($4,027.5), with 20,000 yuan and 15,000 yuan respectively to the second and third prizes. In the 14 person group, each of the money award amounts was 5,000 yuan less than those of the 22 person group.

Apart from the dragon boat race, various activities were also held, such as lion and dragon dance performance, food and clothing exhibitions as well as gliders' acrobatics performance.
