Guangxi holds cleaning day activity

The 2015 Outdoor Cleaning Day Environmental Protection Activity was launched in Nanning on June 7.

Over 2,500 volunteers from 43 public welfare teams cleaned the banks of the Xijiang River basin. They classified the collected rubbish and promoted the environmental protection concept.

Wu Jiang, Guangxi's general leader of the activity, says it is organized by Guangxi Bagui Volunteer Association and this is Guangxi's fourth time taking part.

The activity received financial support from Stora Enso and Kemira groups, who jointly sponsored a water resources protection project in 2013 in order to increase water resource management consciousness of the public.

Participants from Nanning, Yulin, Chongzuo, Hechi, Baise, Liuzhou, Wuzhou, Fangchenggang and Hezhou cleaned the environment and called for water conservation.
