Guhe village sets watercourse cleaning day

May 17 was regarded as watercourse cleaning day in Guhe village, the Dahua Yao autonomous county, Hechi.

Over 1,000 local residents and government officials started the Qingshui River watercourse cleaning activity on this May 17.

The headstream of the Qingshui River is in Guhe village. The river is the main water source in the village and is called the mother river by local residents. However, it was polluted by rubbish several years ago. On May 17, 2014, the village Party branch organized a watercourse cleaning activity and considered the day as the watercourse cleaning day.

It is the first time Hechi villagers named a special day.
