The Bama Yao autonomous county's high quality mineral water stood out among all the other local characteristic industries this year.

From January to April, the county produced 210,000 tons of pure natural drinking water, with a production value of 252 million yuan ($40.62 million) and an increase of 22 percent over the same period last year. It accounted for 42 percent of the whole county's industrial economic growth.

Located in Hechi, Southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, Bama has abundant water resources. In recent years, it has been striving to develop into one of Guangxi's mineral water production and processing base with measures such as strict supervision, policy support and service improvement and has made some achievements.

Bama has 17 water related enterprises, with five under construction and 12 in operation. It is expected that the total production of mineral water can reach 650,000 tons by the end of this year, with a value of 800 million yuan and amounting to over 50 percent of the total industrial output value.
