Fengshan county in Hechi, Southwest China's Guangxi, is now in drought.
After the Beginning of Spring, the first one of the 24 Solar Terms, the overall rainfall quantity in Fengshan county was low and the average temperature was high, which deepened the degree of drought here.
According to statistics by Fengshan county government, a total of 96 villages were suffering the drought and 121,000 mu (8066.67 hectares) of dry land lacked moisture in the soil. About 40,000 out of 60,000 mu of corn fields suffered a total crop failure. Another 13,300 mu planted with soybeans, vegetables and flue-cured tobacco were in drought.
People in some part of the area had problems with drinking water.
