Yizhou, a county-level city of Hechi in Southwest China's Guangxi, plans to publicly recruit 105 teachers in 2015 to satisfy the demand of local schools.

By April 12, 730 people had passed the qualification exam, out of 776 applicants in total.

This year is the second year that the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region publicly recruits primary and middle school teachers by a unified test.

The number of recruits was decided by Yizhou's education bureau, the public sectors' reform office and the human resources and social security bureau. It covered 21 schools and 89.5 percent of the applicants were prepared for compulsory education schools in rural areas.

In the recruitment, 20 posts were provided for people who had the experience of taking over classes before. The age range for this kind of applicants was widened to 45 years old and the education background was expanded into secondary normal school or senior high school.

The written test was set on May 9. The new recruited teachers will come to their positions this autumn, which will ease the shortage of rural teachers in Yizhou.
