Hechi TV original song contest ends

Hechi held an original song TV contest on April 16 and 17 to celebrate Double Third Day.

Double Third Day, celebrated on the third day of the third month of the lunar calendar, is a traditional festival of the Zhuang ethnic group. This year it falls on April 21.

Each team was composed of two to three groups from cultural administration departments of counties and districts in Hechi and units directly under the Hechi government. It was required that the songs were related to Hechi, such as local festival and folk songs. Solo, ensemble and group singing were all encouraged.

The contest kicked off on the evening of April 16. Fourteen contestants were chosen into the final match out of 29 in total. The final result came at the rehearsal hall of Hechi’s TV Station on the morning of April 17. A solo performance by Yang Yang and the group from Fengshan county won the first prizes. Four teams won the second prizes and eight won the third.
